POP puzzle action that changes the terrain and progresses
Toaster Games is a game developer based in Taipei that develops titles for PC and consoles. Until now, the company has been involved in subcontracted development of AAA titles for major publishers, but the action puzzle game “Georifters” exhibited this time is the company’s first completely original title.
“Georifters” is a side-scrolling puzzle action game in which you control Candy, a girl from the land of sweets who has the ability to change the terrain, and explores five worlds.
A seemingly simple system in which you create a path to the goal by freely changing the block-shaped terrain placed on the map by moving it up, down, left and right, floating it in the air, rotating it, and breaking it. Although it looks like a simple game, the stage structure is like a “brain training” that requires you to use your head, and you must always think one step ahead when playing.
The company envisions the game being played by family members such as parents, children, and siblings, and has chosen “sweets” as a motif for the artwork, which would be familiar to small children.
In addition, collectible items such as stickers and crystals are also placed on the map, and by collecting them, you can unlock playable characters other than “Candy” and skins that allow you to change their abilities and appearance. .
This work was originally developed as a PC title, but it was later decided to release it for the Nintendo Switch after adding a Japanese translation. The game is scheduled to be released in 2020, with PS4 and Xbox One versions also planned.

Fusion of Taiwanese art and Cthulhu mythology
Glass Heart Games is a new indie game studio that started in earnest two years ago. The dark fantasy side-scrolling action game “Vigil: The Longest Night” that they exhibited this time is their debut work, but it is an ambitious work that will be released globally as a mid-core title for PC/console.
The story is set in a town where the night never ends due to a curse from a goddess. The main character, Layla, who belongs to the night watch group that protects public order in the town at night, searches for her missing sister while fighting strange monsters that threaten humans.
Why is the town trapped in the night world? What on earth are these monsters? Where is my sister? The world setting of the game is barely explained at the beginning, and is revealed little by little as you fight, talk to other characters, and read books you find during your adventure.
Even so, what is impressive is the high-quality graphics, which makes it hard to believe that this is a debut work. The design of the town itself is medieval European in style, but the way it is depicted seems to have been influenced by the touch of sumi-e.
Also, the monsters had a unique motion in which their limbs moved strangely in a slow manner in response to the movement of their bodies, but this was apparently influenced by Taiwan’s traditional paper-cut puppets. Furthermore, the developer seems to like H.P. Lovecraft’s “Cthulhu Mythos” works, and the overall atmosphere of the title and monster designs are inspired by the same series. In other words, it is a unique horror that combines Western and Eastern tastes, such as Taiwanese art and the Cthulhu myth.
This work was originally a PC title, but it was later decided to release it for consoles. First, we will release the PC version (Steam version) within 2019, followed by the PS4 version, Switch version, and Xbox One version in 2020.

“Dark Souls” style roguelike RPG
CreAct Games is an indie game studio that has been active since 2015, and is developing the dungeon exploration roguelike 3D action RPG “Neverinth” for PC, which started distributing the early access version on Steam from this spring.
This work is set in the world after Ragnarok (Apocalypse War) in Norse mythology, and players choose a character from three Valkyries (scheduled to be five in the official version) and explore dungeons while fighting enemy monsters. I will fight.
Each time you enter a dungeon, it is randomly generated, and the monsters that appear, their appearance patterns, and the types of items placed in the dungeon all change, so there is an element of “luck” in conquering the dungeon, and there is no clear strategy. . Powerful boss enemies await on each floor, and it is essential to develop your character by frequently acquiring weapons and items and learning skills along the way.
This game is a roguelike RPG, so if you die, you have to start over immediately from the beginning. However, you can play a different dungeon each time you enter, so you won’t get bored, and if you unlock achievements, you’ll receive bonuses when you restart, so you won’t lose motivation to try again. According to the developer, it is influenced by the “Dark Souls” series, “Monster Hunter” series, “Castlevania” series, and “Ys” series.
Since it is currently an early access version, there is currently only support for English and Chinese (simplified and traditional characters), but they would like to add Japanese translation if possible. It seems that they will continue to develop towards the official release based on feedback from the Steam community, so if you like 3D action and death games, please play this work and send your thoughts and requests to the company. Please.
