The Summer Game Show, which was held in Taipei for three days from July 14th to 16th, 2023, was a small event with 150,000 participants! It’s still not well known in Japan, and this year’s schedule overlapped with Kyoto’s BitSummit, so there were almost no Japanese participants.
However, only two Japanese booths were at the Summer Game Show, so I would like to introduce them.
“liica” exhibiting a nostalgic masterpiece puzzle game ” Q “
The first is the “liica” booth.
The latest version of “Q”, a physical puzzle game that became explosively popular on smartphones about 10 years ago, “QREMASTERD” was on display.
Q is also famous among Taiwanese gamers, and nostalgic fans flocked to the booth.
Japanese publisher “Phoenixx”, which exhibited two titles
The second is Phoenixx, a Japanese publisher that handles many indie games. Two titles are shown here.
This is a shooting game “NeverAwake” that I have seen several times at exhibitions in Japan. You can shoot bullets while rotating 360 degrees.
a game called “TrinityS”, a game like MMORPG’s boss battle rush. Anyway, only the boss comes out, so the screen is always flashy. It looked pretty interesting.
